What thoughts guide your decision
to walk quickly three steps forward,
and then pause
before you take another three
in the same direction,
or perhaps a little toward the left?
You and your friends
(or are they colleagues,
Or family perhaps?)
You all are the first to know
that I forgot
to wipe the cutting board.
I read on the internet
That you have developed complex eyes,
that see more completely than mine
(something to do with lens technology
and facets)
Plus; you have a good vantage point.
I suppose you are a bit like us,
scrolling, pausing, scrolling.
We see more in an instant
than our ancestors ever dreamed
but mostly
we are feeding upon crumbs.
